Welcome to Nuremberg, err

31 March 2009

Yes, so after 13 rough hours on the train, I've finally gotten to Nürnberg.

Right now im sitting in a 12 bed room at a hostel, with a warm coke, and some WLAN to my great delight. After arriving here at 7am and waiting in the lobby for two hours, I got a bed, in which I craschlanded for 4 hours of beautiful horizontal sleeping.

Interestingly enough, I was woken up a lot of times during the night, but none of those were as creepy as when the boarderpolice came snooping through the windows with a Flashlight and then asking for "Ausweis!". Only thing missing was the german shepherds. But they were Okay. He just looked at my passport and said "Schweden?" and then moved along through the train.

At the moment Im not really sure what I am supposed to do. I should go out and look for an apartment, but haven't had enough replies on the enquirys I've sent out. I could also go food hunting since I haven't eaten since 5am, but I'm not really hungry.

Sooo. yeah. Total apathy.

Tomorrow a representative from Puma will take me to the registration offices and also to sign up for a bank account. The do actually go out of their way to help me, and I'm really grateful because of this.

***UPDATE***

Uploaded som photos from today.. not much, but atleast something :)

I have had the munchies for sushi since my mother and sister talked about it a week ago.

So finally I got some to stuff my face with after some google browsing for a decent restaurant.

Nürnberg was as nice as i was told. But it's a bizarre city, the buildings both look old and new. Since most of the city was flattened during the WWII, they decided to rebuild everything. So it almost feels like walking around on the scene of a movie.

An ofcourse, the cultural funnies.

Drop me a line if you cant see the pics, and ill try to solve it! Just cant be bothered right now, and if i save them as Gif images, they look pretty shitty.

Japanese beer is also better than Swedish btw. That makes Swedish beer inferior to; Danish, English, Austrian, German, Brazilian, Mexican and Japanese so far.

Swedish beer is superior to; American.

Dow swords have arrived!

21 March 2009

So our teams new guns did arrive today! Was awesome to see them for real, a weird sensation to hold something that you have slaved over during late nights.

They turned out pretty nice, but theres always room for improvement. Next year will be even better!

We will try them on for size on sunday, looking forward to some outdoor paintball. Enjoy!

So it finally happened. I managed to get a Internship, and I got it a sportscompany. Oh joy!

I sent my portfolio to shitloads of companies, and I guess a small majority replied, whilst a lot of them did not even bother. Well, what goes around comes around I hope.

Anyway, I applied for a position that Puma advertised, and suprisingly enough they e-mailed me and asked if I wanted to do a phone interview with them for the position. First time I ever done one of those, so I was seriously nervous.

The interview was pretty hard. She asked a lot of questions that I hadn't prepared for, and some that I should have seen coming. Like "whos your favorite designer", and what my favourite brand was. Well, I thought the interview went horrible, but it was still fun to get the oppurtunity.

Imagine my surprise, when I one week later get a e-mail where they offer me the internship, and ask if I am available to begin on the 1st of April. I have to admit, it was still very hard to decide. It would mean 6 more months away from Isabelle. On the other hand, it was a really nice oppurtunity to get a paid internship at one of the biggest sportcompanies in the world.

Well, you guessed it, I accepted the offer. So now I'm set to go to Germania..

Otherwise, there I haven't been doing too much since I came back from Kitzbühel. I've tried to finish the last assignments from Graz, which has been really hard to gather energy to do. I've also sketched a lot, and I'm happy to say that it has improved, which is nice, cus I'll need it.

At the moment, I'm in Lund, working on the Canson renderings (2xA2 handrendered poster), and enjoying life with Isabelle. I've watched a lot of scrubs, played some paintball, and spent time with some of my friends in Helsingborg.

So now I'll start to update more frequently from Germany.

until next time.

Buhbye!
