RSS working better now?

27 May 2009

Yeah, seems like i needed to tweak some more stuff in the script to make the rss-urls to work properly.

If they still do not work, remove the Bookmark and re-subscribe. Should work.

If there is something else not functioning properly, please tell me

RSS-feed

26 May 2009

Yeah, I have made some minor changes to the site. Mainly changes in the way the comment section looks (SO use it god damnit!)

The other big change is that I managed to implement an RSS feed. So click on the orange image in the upper right corner, and it will be a lot easier to see when I've updated.

Thursday, it's off to Bitburg!

Museum-hopping

26 May 2009

Yeah, so my parents and Isabelle arrived on wednesday to visit me for a couple of days.

They picked me up at work, so I could bring home some stuff, and then we headed off to the Puma Outletstore. Since I have some nice perks via work, we shopped quite a bit, atleast I did.. I have been in desperate need of new shorts and running gear. After this we went to the camping where some home made food (yaaaay) was prepared and devoured..

During the weekend we went to a few different museum, including Doku-Zentrum, which was a building that Hitler ordered to be built so that he and the NDSAP (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiter Partei, aka the nazis) could hold meetings, or atleast listen to his speaches.

The entire surrounding area was supposed to be rebuilt in to a huge complex that was part of the big propaganda machine.

It was never finished. The only thing that was finalized was the Zeppelin field which. The sad thing is that they goverment have let it fall to ruins.

How it used to look.

Today

Their architechture scares me a lot. It's very majestic though, but cold and frightening..

Other than that we went to a Toymuseum, German railway museum, Industrial Culture museum and a model building exhibition. I think the Railway museum was the most entertaining one. They had put a lot of work in to it, with loads of scale models and real trains etc etc.

We did also have time to go to a restaurant or two, drank some real german beer, eating wurst and enjoying the warm weather.

My commuter friend Nilovar just finished her bachelor thesis, and I made some shoe renderings for her, and she showed me the final essay. So you could say that I got published.. Anyway, was fun to do it, and it turned out pretty well. Oh yeah, the camera in the iphone sucks.

(The designs are existing, ive only done the digital illustration, with material considerations)

I found some a nice picture from a Youthhostel we stayed in 2 weeks ago, when we played the XPSL, a german paintball league. The view was magnificent.

Check the specs

05 May 2009

Since im currently hunting for glasses (since about 2 years ago), I stumbled upon a pretty cool brand from germany.

It's called Mykita , and they produce all their products in their facilities in Berlin. They have some stylish retro stuff with a kind of modern touch. Kind of cliché description, but I can't think of a better one.

Seems like they have been on a lot of celebrity faces, but they have passed under my radar none the less. (like I was a huge trendspotter/celebrity hunter..)

I will be going to an optician tomorrow hopefully and try them out.

I personally really liked the model Walter. Let's hope they like me!

Pitstop -> Helsingborg, Sweden

04 May 2009

I took a short vacation by going home to Sweden during the weekend.

It was SO nice to get back. I took the nighttrain, with a bedreservation, wish i'd had the oppurtunity to do that more often.. It was very relaxing even though we were six in the small compartment.

Anyway, the weekend was great. On Thursday, Isabelle picked me up at the central station, and when we came back we just cuddled up and fell asleep for a an hour or two. Then we went to have dinner with my parents and their friends, which was nice.

On friday we met up with Hasse and went for a walk with him and his dog Theo. Such a cute little canine! Then he fixed my ego9 with some new hoses that are supposed to increase life on some of the bumper o-rings. Then we were invited to have coffee with a classmate of mine, Johanna Vighagen Steen and her husband Kalle. They purchased a small cottage in a colony area in the middle of Helsingborg. I have not been to one of those for atleast 1.5 decades. It was pretty surprising. Like a small sanctuary in the middle of the busy city. (Johanna is currently doing her internship in Oslo, at a firm called Frost design, i think..) So we had so much to talk about just around this simple topic.

We ended up staying there for about 5 hours, and had a great time. So once again, thanks for the invitation!

On saturday, we went for a bike ride in the sun, going to another paintball friend. We enjoyed the sun whilst they were settings things up for the first 3kronor (swedish paintball tournament) in Helsingborg. We also got to meet Sara and Leon, which was great. Kids grow way to fast for me to keep track with my unfrequent visits.

then, Home, cold drink, food on the balchony, enjoy life -> Check!

Sunday was a short day, cus i had to leave for Germany at 16. I always leave Isabelle with a heavy heart. Although, I must say, that seeing her getting tears in her eyes every time I leave feels good in a weird way. It makes me realize that this relationship is worth struggling to preserve.

Thanks baby, for a great weekend! One of the best in a long time.

For the rest of you.

Exhibit evidence #1:

Try to have a normal discussion with a Björn that haven't slept or eaten enough.
